Mineral oil hydrocarbons are a significant food safety concern, with EFSA continuing to work toward formal recommendations on maximum allowable limits and risk assessments. Traditional methods (LC-GC-FID) offer limited resolution and lack chemical specificity, especially when complex samples require confirmation.
This workshop will guide participants through a full confirmatory workflow using comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography (GC×GC) and time-of-flight mass spectrometry (TOF-MS), enabling confident identification, separation, and quantification of both MOSH and MOAH fractions.
