Application Note NEW!
To meet the need of a fast, robust, and reliable—but also sufficiently flexible—method to quantify fragrance allergens, an analytical workflow based on comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography (GCxGC) coupled to time-of-flight mass spectrometry (TOFMS) has been developed. This approach reduces the number of required analytical runs per sample. Here, the analysis of 57 fragrance allergens and their relevant isomers is demonstrated with GCxGC-TOFMS using the LECO Pegasus BTX 4D system equipped with the QuadJet™ thermal modulator using liquid nitrogen (LN2) as coolant. Examples of calibration curves and precision and accuracy metrics are provided. In addition, a perfume sample was analyzed under the same conditions the compatibility of this method with other analytical approaches, such as a non-target screening or characterization.
Explore this selection of app notes to discover how our high-tech instruments and software allow for accurate deconvolution, advanced identification, and precise characterization of analytes in a variety of samples.
Trusted expertise, groundbreaking technology, and a commitment to your success.
Trace-level detection with helium or hydrogen carrier gases – no analytes escape detection.
Built to streamline common challenges like off-odor identification and product reformulation.
Select the carrier gas, modulator, and injection techniques to satisfy a wide variety of workflows.
We dedicate ourselves to your success through unmatched support, training, and fast service.
“Moving to GCxGC-MS in 2014 was a pivotal decision, allowing us to conduct Fragrance Allergens Analysis more efficiently and with greater confidence, even when dealing with extended allergens in the most complex samples.”

Started analyzing Fragrance Allergens in 2000 and by GCxGC-MS in 2014
“Having access to user-friendly software makes it easier to understand & visualize the theoretical aspects of GCxGC. After a two-month training period following my graduation, I was able to operate the Fragrance Allergens method autonomously, processing simple samples in 15 minutes and the most complex ones in up to one hour.”
